Adjustable baby gates
Adjustable baby gates are wonderful in that they are both cheap and adjustable. Their weakness is that they are difficult to adjust. The little clip is always wanting to slip out of place and you often don’t know which notch works best for the door way. We found two solutions to this problem.
- Use a marker and mark the notch that works best. This works great if you are often moving the gate between different width doors.
- If the gate is being used primarily in one doorway or is used in doorways that are the same size you can fix the gate into one position. We used a wire staple to hold the clip in the notch that best fit our door and it still remains both collapsible and easily sets into place.
