We have been trying to eat a little better lately. To that end we have tried quite a few new recipes. Some of them have been quite nice and others not so much. Deb tends to be much more excited about a few well cooked veggies then meat any day of the week. I bought a book last year, The Culinary Institute of America, Vegetables. To date we haven’t had anything out of the cook book that we didn’t like. One of our favorites was their version of Vegetable Burgers. Unfortunately, as is my thing, I have changed it a little here and there. It is very close to the original recipe but I think my version is a little “meatier”. Enough with this, here it is. Enjoy.

Jamie OliverAlright, maybe I have spent too many years listening to British colloquialisms (Thanks Sally) or maybe I have spent too many years thinking about my Irish heritage. The truth is that I just love listening to the pattern of speech in other countries and the Brits have a way of describing things that just make me smile.

My kids and wife just love sweets. This recipe is a nice compromise between a nice sweet snack and something that you would prefer not to feed the kids. It uses a pre-made pie crust which makes the assembly quick and painless. Scott Edler is the source for this recipe and prefers to use different types of apples. I have made some slight modifications to the recipe because I can’t just leave good enough alone :) .
