The Welker Family

This morning I took Jameson to school just like every day. Our conversation was as normal as could be. I started thinking about the rest of our day and asked him what he wanted for lunch. I then dropped into another question about what I should buy for lunch from the grocery store. Since I had to run out this morning anyway, I figured that he might think of something he had been craving. When the first couple of answers were fairly normal, “How about hot dogs?”, “How about chicken?”, I pushed a little further. I said, “Don’t you want something different? Is there something you really wish that we had at home?” A short pause followed. Then the silence was broken. “How about crab dad? That sounds nice.”

Crab. Yep, that would be my child. He couldn’t possibly think of all of the items that are in the $2.00lb range. Nope. He wants crab at $17.00 lb. What ever happened to Peanut butter and Jelly?

The moral of the story for other parents is this. Don’t ask your child questions unless you are really prepared for the answer.

Dora, and Debbie live in Shelby Ohio and are the start of our family. Herbert passed in 1998 and is dearly missed.

Lee and Peg have three amazing children, especially their oldest Glenn. That kid is just the bees knees. Kathy and Heather round out the litter. Lee is currently retired although he seems to always be busy. Peg is technically retired as well but is still teaching. We doubt that this will ever change. Lee and Peg live in Plymouth Ohio.

Glenn and Deb have two children. Jameson is their oldest and is currently conquering preschool. Hatteras “Hattie” is their youngest and is currently staying at home with mom and dad. Glenn is currently a stay at home dad and Deb is a school teacher in the Olentangy school system. Glenn, Deb and the kids live in Powell Ohio.

Kathy and Mike have three children. Sydney is their oldest and currently thinks that webkinz are sweeeet!. Maxwell is their middle child and has been known to dominate the football field as of late. Bringing up the rear is Sammy “Sam”. Kathy is a school teacher for Columbus City Schools. Mike owns a customs brokerage firm in southern Columbus. McQuate Brokerage Services. Kathy, Mike and the kids live in Whitehall Ohio.

Heather and Drew are expecting their first child in 2008. Heather is a school teacher for Olentangy schools. Drew is currently working for a travel company. Drew also owns Allview Irrigation, an irrigation company. He would have a web site but his brother-in-law (Glenn) is a slacker. Heather and Drew live in Westerville Ohio.

You also will likely hear details of Deb’s brother Dave and their family. While technically not Welker’s we have a way of drugging people… I mean dragging people into the Welker activities. Dave, his wife Renee and their son Mitch live in Westerville.
