I often find myself with small areas of poison ivy in my yard or flower beds. I found that the only way to really get rid of the ivy is to pull it out. Previously I used latex gloves which worked great. However, I always threw them away because I was afraid of getting poison ivy from the gloves and that was quite expensive. Then it came to me.
You can use a plastic grocery bag or for that matter two “double bag it”. Just stick your hand in the bag, grab the poison ivy and pull it out, then simply use your other hand to turn the bag inside out over the ivy and throw it in the trash.
